This year, October is not only a super spooky Halloween month, but a month filled with concerts taking place throughout Greater Miami, so there’s sure to be at least one concert this month that fits your taste in music.
On October 11, The Growlers are playing in Fort Lauderdale’s Culture Room. The Californian band, The Growlers, have been said to embody the perfect mix between surf rock and pop.
If you are more in the rave and dance scene of music, the III Points Music Festival in Wynwood – which runs from the 13 to the 15 of October – is perfect for you. DJs, bands, and artists of every genres are invited in order to build special lineups that are different every year. Among the notable lineup are names such as The XX, Willow Smith, Kali Uchis, and Gorillaz – whose frontman Damon Albarn will be playing in Miami for the first time ever since the band’s creation in 1998.
Not to worry though, because III Points also shows love to less popular groups, like Nicolas Jarr, Skepta, RÜFÜS DU SOL, BADBADNOTGOOD, Skeleton Boy, and around 50 more artists. Prices vary greatly based on the days or number of days you are looking to attend, but any day is sure to be a good time.
America’s vocal king, Bruno Mars, will be performing in Miami for his 24K Magic World Tour. He will perform both on the 15 and the 18 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise. Make sure to get your tickets if you haven’t already, though, because Bruno is known to sell out entire stadiums.
For those who are more into rap or hip hop genre, Kid Cudi’s Passion, Pain, and Demon Slayin’ Tour is bound to be even cooler than the name foreshadows.
Becoming a recent rising star after the release of her popular debut album Badlands, Halsey will be coming down to Sunrise, Florida, on October 21 to play at the BB&T Center for her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour. Halsey – real first name Ashley – doesn’t believe in labeling her music in just one genre, but just for the sake of getting an idea what her music sounds like, she’s satisfied with calling her new album a mix of electropop and dreampop.
Abel Tesfaye, or as many know him, The Weeknd, will be performing at American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami on October 24 as a second phase of his Legends of the Fall world tour. Even though he started releasing music in 2010, Abel has soared to new heights in the music industry with the help of his two latest albums, Beauty Behind the Madness and Starboy. Those who may enjoy The Weeknd’s Legend of the Fall 2017 World Tour are those whose music taste leans more towards R&B with dreamy, soul vocals.
Finishing off October with a bang, just before everyone’s favorite holiday, Kings of Leon will perform at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach on October 27. Since releasing their latest studio album, WALLS, the band has been nominated for 12 Grammys, of which they won 4.
The alternative rock band, comprised of 3 brothers and a cousin who all share the last name of Followill, will be playing songs from all 7 of their studio albums throughout their career since their beginnings in 1998. They last time they performed in Florida for a tour was in 2014, at the same West Palm Beach venue, so be sure to catch them this time around if you haven’t experienced their live music yet.
